News flash…. No one knows everything. I’ve been doing this for 25 years and every day is a fresh start. We are all students of the human condition and we are constantly searching for new ways to express our ideas.

This course is not designed to just give you a bunch of tips and tricks to structure what you think are catchy songs.

The thing that separates this course from the rest is that it focuses on showing you how to get your “Voice” into your songs so you can move people deeply all around the world.

Absolutely it is! The thing that separates this course from the rest is that it starts from the very beginning. If you have never written a song before, you’ll be starting exactly where you’re supposed to. At the beginning! The course has been written so anyone can understand it no matter what their experience level. Beginner or Advanced.

The entire course is laid out in video form. Each video is between 5 and 20 minutes long. You can watch the modules as many times as you like and all of the ideas are expressed in a very conversational way so that it doesn’t feel boring or heady.

You will be choosing your 10 favorite songs and using the ideas in this course to reverse engineer them and get a full understanding of exactly how they were structured composed and completed. Once you are done with the course you will have a complete library of tools that the best songwriters in the world have used to make your favorite songs. You’ll not only know what the tools are but more importantly HOW they were used. Then you can start using them immediately to craft your own songs. And the best part is you can’t “UNLEARN” it. After watching less than 20 hours of footage, you’ll have over 20 years experience under your belt!

Absolutely! That’s exactly what the Hollywood rebellion is all about. After starting the master class, you will have the option to also sign up for the discord server. Here – you can meet the other members of the Hollywood rebellion who are on the exact same journey as you and share your ideas about the things you have learned and how you want to implement them into your songwriting. It is a very supportive and non toxic environment were we all want to help each other succeed.

This course is called “Shims Master class”.

It’s not called “How to write a hip-hop song”. Or “How to make country hits.”

This course is not genre specific on purpose. Every genre needs songs.

Yes. Shim is active in the discord and does at least 1 group coaching call per month. (Usually more;)

You will also have regular coaching calls with our other in house coach – Derek. Derek has over 25 years experience in the music business from all angles and is an excellent teacher who loves what he does. There are also regular meetups, collaborations and contests.

There are approximately 20 hours of lessons in the masterclass and 100 hours in the “Lockdown sessions” Lecture series. The Lockdown sessions are live songwriting sessions were you see Shim implementing everything that is in the masterclass into real songs in real time.

The goal is the same for both hobbyist or pro. To write the best songs.

This course is specifically designed to get your songs sounding as relatable as possible in your own voice. And who knows, once you get there you may decide that you could do this professionally. We all start out as hobbyists. 😉
